State of the Art in HP Industrial Coding Systems Pharmaceutical / Medical Device and Food

iJet - Smart coding with HP technologydownload-pdf

This independently operating print head is particularly suited for quick and clean printing on product surfaces in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industry. Cartridge insertion is simplified by the unique Click‘n Print holder (patent pending). Features such as the iLOGIK-system control and the high resolution display, facilitating the input of parameters and variables as well as complete menu navigation, render the iJet particularly user-friendly. The iJet keeps its promises - nothing is impossible: Product names and descriptions, quantities, production and shelf-life data, barcodes, logos and much more can be coded onto the product at a rate of up to 90 metres per minute at 300 dpi - no problem.

Compactline 2.0 - Technology concentrated in the size of a mobile phone

Compactline 2.0
With a maximum printing height of 4.5 mm, this system can accomplish a variety of coding tasks. This includes the inclusion of manufacturing and expiration dates, serial numbers, date, time, and much more. With the 4-line, graphics-capable LC display with combined membrane keypad, it is easy to enter text and data.Only one hand is required to insert the ink cartridge in the printer. After this, the system is ready to go. The ink is available in the ink ducts of the printing cartridge. Its viscosity prevents the ink from running out.

Compactline 2.5 - Now with batch counter and data matrix function

The Compactline 2.5 thermal inkjet coder is now available with improved software. The new version’s special feature is a printout counter. This means, for example, that the number of coded products per batch can be calculated.

New too is the ECC200 data matrix code print function. This allows the Compactline 2.5 to fit even more information into a smaller space. The Editor 3 software’s barcode input menu is very simple to use. Even at fast cycle speeds, Compactline 2.5 data matrix codes can be printed with variable content – in fantastic quality.
The Compactline 2.5 is also suitable for a very wide range of coding tasks. Depending on requirements, the system will also print product names and descriptions, manufacturing and sell-by dates, bar codes, graphics and much more, with a maximum character height of 12.5mm – or 25mm with two connected print heads. The system, which can be used on the packing line itself, will print on both sides of cartons and trays made from solid or corrugated cardboard. “Action fields” allow variable data to be quickly and easily combined. No need to enter data more than once. Data can also be read in directly using a scanner.
Operation is largely intuitive, making the device very simple and fail-safe. A preview function gives an additional level of control over print commands before the Compactline 2.5 starts work.
The system has an automatic print direction changer, also saving time by printing text at right angles to the direction of feed (alternately right to left and left to right, for example, in a single run).
Compactline 2.5 uses tried and tested HP thermal inkjet technology to give reliable and crisp results: Depending on the task, printing at a maximum resolution of 600 dpi at 30m per minute is possible.

The new Compactline 3.0 – brilliant performance with coding

Ideal for digital marking of absorbent and semi-absorbent materials

The Compactline 3.0 codes absorbent and semi-absorbent materials at top quality. Thanks to proven Hewlett Packard printing technology, it for instance marks cardboard packaging and trays made of full and corrugated cardboard, aluminium safety fasteners and pharmaceutical blister packaging as well as paper labels with up to 600 dpi resolution. The HP cartridges are clean and simple to handle. The optional bulk system provides a 350 ml large volume ink supply and thereby improves system availability. Possible synchronisation of printing heads falls away and uniform printing quality is guaranteed.
Depending on print resolution, printing speeds of up to 300 metres per minute can be achieved. Irrespective whether working from right to left, left to right from the side or from the top. The Compactline 3.0 is particularly flexible, since it is capable of simultaneously marking products from two independent production lines.
Optimised access times, data preparation and data transfer The Compactline 3.0 uses the latest generation PC cards. This renders the system extremely fast and efficient; optimising access times, data preparation and data transfer. The working memory offers 1 GB storage capacity. Many central registers with layouts and logos can thus be created and stored. The system prints product names and descriptions, quantities, manufacturing and shelf-life data, bar codes, sequential numbers, date and time. The Editor 3 software with GSI input assist facilitates printing of a GSI-compliant ECC200 datamatrix code.
Simple and user-friendly Simple data entry through user-friendly configured input fields on the touch screen and optimally illuminated display. Variable data can be entered as automatic functions already whilst text is configured. Permanent update occurs during the coding process. Apart from the 4-head version (with lettering height up to 50 mm), the Compactline 3.0 control unit is also available as an 8-head version. This enables connection of up to two printing head groups, comprising 4 printing heads each, for letter sizes up to 100 mm.
Hassle-free integration and existing production environments Not only is the robust stainless steel and sheet steel housing attractive, it is also ergonomically shaped, rendering it particularly user-friendly.   Due to its compact design, the system can be easily integrated into existing production environments.  The new Compactline 3.0 needs only one mains adaptor for its three voltages (5 V, 24 V, 30 V). This ensures maximum flexibility. At the same time, cabling is reduced to a minimum. The mains adaptor has a built-in fan for optimal ventilation of the thermal inkjet coder. An external fan is optionally available. With these features, the 3.0 system also operates reliably in hot production environments.  Rough production environments are also no problem: A cover plate can be mounted on the back of the Compactline 3.0 housing to protect the individual connections from water spray, dust or mechanical hazards.
