By using the bulk coding ink system, frequent replacement of cartridges is reduced. Instead refillable cartridges are continually replenished from a large 400ml bulk cartridge.
The integrated ink supply can supply from 1 to 4 printheads. Each bulk cartridge holds 400ml of ink and can be replaced without interruption in production.
SmartCard technology is used for communication between the supply tank and individual cartridges via a EIA232 interface.
